Some web pages wont load in any browser

Hi Guys/Gals,

I've got a really irritating issue where some web pages wont load, I get a blank page with a empty gif thats 1x1 ??

It happens with ie8, firefox, and chrome, I've turned off kaspersky to test if it was the cause but it wasn't, a good example of a page that wont load is any google ad when doing a search (yes sometimes thats what I'm looking for) its also other pages with no rhyme or reason. Is it a setting somewhere that needs to be changed or.... I dont know ??

I also run xp and the web pages load fine on that in any browser.

*Edit* the page also runs ok if I stick it through a proxy web site like proxify ?

Usually just downloading Java or Adobe fixes those types of problems.

Do you have anything else running on your system in terms of security software, like Spybot S&D or Spywareblaster?

checked the hosts file, its empty minus the standard local host 127...., the only security running would be bit defender, turned off and tried it but still same issue, and Kaspersky anti virus also turned off with not result.

Java and adobe are up to date.

might install Windows 7 on a virtual and see if it is there from the start.

no, I dont think so, I'm assuming the source of dns is my isp, but that wouldn't be OS based then... or is there a setting in seven that directs to its own dns location ?

ok, installed a vanilla 7 on virtual box and its fine... might turn kaspersky off and reboot with it off from start up.

EDIT:

OK cracked it, it was kaspersky, and in particular it was the "anti banner" option, stopped the whole dam page from loading... not very good!!
