Why does this URL email icon bring up Windows Live Mail?

    See this?

It's a Christmas webcam. If you mouse over it, you get an "EMAIL THIS" icon. Click it, I get "Windows Live Mail" come up.

Don't use it. Never have. Yahoo! Mail is my default MAILTO: program, and it works fine.

    Why does this come up?

    @ Jacee,

It should be this icon when you hover over the video. :)

Yahoo, is a web based, so it will open whatever email client program (ex: Windows Live Mail) that you have installed instead. :)

so it won't open the web mail client..just whatever is installed as a desktop client, even if I don't use it.

yes, but can't I get Yahoo Mail to come up? This says Windows Live Mail, and I don't use that. Or want to use it.

You might see if this may be able to help to make Yahoo your default email client in Windows 7. :)

I use Chrome, Yahoo Mail is the default mailto: for it. It's just some of these sites, like the one @ the beginning of the thread, bring that WLM up.

You can still use Chrome, but what matters is how it's set in the link above if you wanted to make Yahoo the default email program in Windows for Yahoo to open when you click on a email type button. :)
