    cannot import .eml files

    Hello,

Since a couple of days I have problems with Windows Live Mail.

When I make an outgoing e-mail message, the message was stored in the folder outbox, but not sended. When I open the outbox folder, I could not read the contents of the mail. Searching on the internet shown me that my email account was probably damaged.

So I exported all my e-mail to an new folder. In this folder all messages are stored as seperate .eml files. I deleted my e-mail account and made a new one. When I import the e-mail messages some folders in live mail stay empty. When I import one .eml message I get an error message: Message can not be stored. Try it again.

    Can anyone help me out?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hello Ricaro,

You might see if you may be able to use Option Two in METHOD TWO of the tutorial below after you open them to copy or move them to a email folder in Windows Live Mail one by one.

Windows Live Mail - Export and Import Email Messages

    Hope this helps,

Here is a simple way to do it for multiple messages (*.eml files) in a folder in Windows Explorer:

Arrange the WLM and Explorer applications so that neither is full screen and so that you can view the *.eml files in Explorer at the same time that you view an empty folder (like Storage/Deleted Items) within WLM. Now highlight all the *.eml files; then left-click-hold the highlighted area and drag it to the WLM folder. All the files should "import" together. You can also sort them into the right places within WLM by dragging and dropping or do the original import by highlighting them in groups and move each group directly to it's proper place within WLM.

If the export feature is used, all folders have a wlmail.fol file, so they can be imported. If an email is saved, then the .eml file type gets used.

    Hi,

I tried all the above solutions, but none of them worked.

I completely removed Live Mail, made an reboot, and reinstalled Live Mail. Made a new account en imported all the old mail. Now everything works fine.:)

That's great news Ricaro. I'm happy to hear that you got them imported back in. :)
