How can I kill Bing forever?

Bing and MS has invaded my browser AGAIN! Now, when I type a string into my browser, Bing interferes and shows its ugly self instead of the default behavior of just finding the url. On top of that my home page has been change to msn.com.

This seems to happen about every 3 months. Changing the home page is no problem but I never remember the steps to exterminate Bing. What I'd like to do is put Bing on a blacklist. Don't know if that's possible.

This was also done to Chrome as well as FF. At this rate, I may go back to Linux for a little peace and quiet. Easy to see why people become MS haters.

What do you keep installing or updating regularly that keeps putting Bing back on your system?

Did all of the above. Ran CCleaner. Rebooted. Typed in dpreview and bing popped up. Actually, as soon as I type an unqualified url (no dot anything), I get the bing icon in the address window.

My system is open to MS for updates as they come available. This is probably the problem. OTH, IO want an up-to-date system, especially, security updates.

Have you ever actually uninstalled the Bing search extension? Just go find and remove it from Programs and Features. I enable all MS updates and I've never had it install Bing on my system.

Why do people blame MS for all their problems?
You will not get BING from Windows update, you will get BING when updating Adobe reader, java, installing third party programs like Ad-aware and many other programs that one downloads from the internet. By default BING is checked to be installed by these third party programs so you have to watch out for them and uncheck them or else you will continue to get BING (Google and ASK is just as bad) installed all the time. That said, Bing can be removed from the uninstall program area and only takes a minute at the most to do.

If you uninstall Bing in Programs and Features it will not remove it from browser search options. This needs to be done manually after setting Google to default, then Remove Bing. Then tick the box to disallow suggesting Search option changes.

Bing is not available in P&F. I haven't downloaded anything for the past month. This little "feature" popped up today for the first time, this time around. Generally, I am very wary of add-ons when I download because one can end up with a boat load of doody.

I notice that there is no way to uninstall IE. Looks like I was "given" IE9 64 bit in the last 2 days. This is something I would never download so perhaps that is where the problem is originating.
