Live Mail starts by installing itself, over and over and over...

Every time I click on the Live Mail icon, an installation window pops up and I guess reinstalls Live Mail. Every, every, every time.

It started when I downloaded the installation package for Movie Maker. Not only did it not install Movie Maker in my Win7 PC, it screwed up Live Mail, as is now the situation.

Geez Louise what is wrong with Microsoft?

If Windows Live Essentials is listed in Programs and Features, highlight it and use the change/uninstall button at the top to initiate a "repair". It will repair the components actually installed. Any program not installed will have to be installed via the installation package (not Programs and Features).

Thank you for your suggestions. I repaired via Control Panel's P&F and went through the process. When I reopened Live Mail it went through the configuration process. Then I uninstalled it using programs and features and downloaded Live Essentials and clicked only on Live Mail to install it through the install package. Not seeing the icon anywhere in Start, All Programs, I clicked on the icon in Explorer, Program Files (x86), Windows Live, Mail, wlmail.exe and again the configuration process to get mail opened. It opens but the configuration process is getting boring.
After uninstalling Live Mail, Windows Live shows only two folders: RemoteActiveX and Sync. i uninstalled both and they have disappeared, according to Control Panel's Program and Features uninstall programs, as well as Revo and Absolute uninstallers.
Under Windows Live there is a Folder called Windows Mail which has files such as wab.exe. wabmig.exe, etc.
So, I again downloaded the installer package and tried to install via default. Live essentials installation details says now that "couldn't install Photo Gallery and Movie Maker. It looks like another pgoram is preventing the installer from working. Error 0x80070643 Source: photogallery." Clicked on Start, All Programs and the icons for Live Mail and Live Messenger lead to an uninstall window.
In view of the fact that the Windows Live icon in Start, All Programs is empty, I tried opening Live Mail via Explorer and once more it starts via the configuration window.
I suppose that short of a total deletion of the Live programs to vanish them from my PC, I will have to live with this situation.

    However, I appreciate your suggestions.

I have no experience with Revo and Absolute. However I don't see why they are needed. I'd delete them and start over using only Programs and Features and the WLE install file.

    Hi Roxy,

Use Revo Uninstaller Portable | PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB, portable and cloud drives at default setting to remove all Windows Live Essentials, empty Recycle Bin & reboot before re installing. Revo Uninstaller.PDF

Revo zapped everything and it is now working fine.

    Thank you all.
