Installing Google Chrome to a different path/folder/drive/location

Hi & thanks for any replies,

I have tried DL'ing the stand alone installer and the Google Pack(no longer). Doesn't matter what I do it installs to Appdata-grrr. I have read all the reasons google installs to this folder; none of which apply to my situation.

Also, I apologize if this topic has been addressed here before. I did multiple searches and found nothing.

At this point, I'm ready to go in and hack it out w/ the proper directions.

Thanks again for any help.

Thanks for your reply!

Unfortunately, that discussion is a bit dated & concerns Google Earth, which installs to %root%/Program Files/. Unless I missed something?

Google Chrome installs to a hidden folder %root%\Users\User Name\AppData\Local\Google. I cannot find any way to change this. In the Google Forums, "work arounds" have been posted; but, apparently deleted before I had a chance to read them.

I use Chromium snap shots. They are really very stable. Now and then if you get a flaky one just use one slightly newer or slightly older. Download the win32 zip file and just unzip to an empty folder.

Index of /f/chromium/snapshots/Win_Webkit_Latest

Set up your bookmark sync and you'll have bookmarks from chrome. I also use LastPass with it. You may have to set up your extensions, but since it's chromium you will likely only need 5 or 6 extensions unless you're an AddOn freak. I only have 5 installed with 4 enabled. This disabled one is a bookmark dead link checker that I run manually once a month or so.

Don't use it so I don't know. I would ask on Chromium discuss:

https://groups.google.com/a/chromium...discuss/topics

You can post about problems with the latest snap shots or anything chromium. It's really a mailing list that's adapted so you can access via browser.
