    I am prepared to be corrected, but you can use the standalone Live Mail, jusy like any other desktop mail program - No need for a live ID.

    I concur, as that is what I did. I do not want all the bells and whistles, just Live Mail.

    Thanks all,Never thought that my question would generate so much help.Been most of the day looking around this email problem,Maybe I should look once more on the thunderbird one,Maybe someone can put me on the correct track of setting up getting to inport emails etc and contacts etc.It would be a great help if I had an up to date help on the thunderbird setup Please.
