Alternatives to Windows Live Mail 2011

Are there any alternatives to Windows Live Mail 2011?

Like I mentioned in some of my previous posts, I am having trouble with it.

Are there any?

do you still have wlm installed?

you'll probably need to export your contact from there in a format that thunderbird can read.

Ok. Which format does thunderbird support? Does it support CSVs

Export in all possible formats and hope that Tbird can import one of them.

Be prepared to enter all your contacts by hand if necessary.

Changing email programs is full of pitfalls, so beware and don't have expectations too high.

I gave up on Windows Live Mail 3 years ago. All I remember is that I hated it.

If nothing else, find out where your contacts reside on your hard drive. Then manually copy that folder to a safe location on another drive. If you are lucky, you may be able to open your contacts with notepad or a similar app and copy the necessary info.

Or maybe take a series of screen shots of your contacts?

You have to be creative with email migration. It is stuck in the stone age and you should expect to be frustrated.
