Ayesha, slow down. I'm trying to help you best I can, but you type like you are panicked. If you are, you can potentially overlook things that are important.

You haven't yet answered some of my questions posed in earlier posts.

Firefox doesn't open at all? There are no errors displayed?

    You ran this tool: sfc?

Try this one out, it will not completely reinstall, but you need to follow all directions exactly: Repair Install

Can you use any of the anitiviruses? And you only have 1 installed, right?

You followed my disk cleanup advise?

I even restored my Lp to yesterday which is when the update happened so it should of fixed me not being able to open mozilla, safari ( i just downloaded it today so that definetly should of worked) and opera.
    Ayesha, what update did this?

Do you still have Avast! installed? Did you try an even earlier restore point?

You have to let me know what you do, or I can't keep up

    chill

    try reformatting and reinstalling windows

windows screws up sometimes, so you have to be patient with the os

don't worry, mac osx does the same thing except it uses "kernel panic"

    :)

i am chilled , i know ppl are just trying to help- thank you all . but this happened when i first joined too, all im doing on my end is trying to be as helpful as i can. this laptop cost so much money, i just want to know why it messes up so much. cant take it back -insurance ran out. i dont understand how a forum full of tech savvy ppl can not know what my annoying problem is lol. it has to be something, mozilla cant just stop working randomly!
Mozilla, IE8 & Opera stopped responding on the 20th.
19th jan, had an update but everything was fine on the laptop AFTER THE UPDATE- so its not the update .
    -I've done disk clean
    -regestry clean
-scaned from MSE & Malwarebytes- found only 2 viruses as you 'normally do with W7!' and I removed them
-Used the revo tool, removed most of my applications
    - Restored to an earlier point (18th jan before updates)
-tried the internet troubleshooting and the other guide that was 1st suggested yesterday
-deleted Avast, adobe arcobat, opera, safari (which Ii just dl yesterday to see if it would work) -so now only MSE, Malware AV's are running.
    - Also ran the SFC tool the 1st part anyway, as I ran CMD yesterday- resetting winsock and 3 other internet related CMD'S.
Wiping my lp is probably what Ill have to do. Thanks Dusty for your help and Roc, i hope you didnt take any offense . just trying to be heplful, thanks again and please let me kknow if theres anythignelse besides a complete clean- i just got a new HD and my lp was wiped compltly in november!

Sounds like your laptop is really messed up, suggest you type device manger into the Start search field & see if you have any problems there.

Thank God, firefox & IE8 is now working. I installed the critical updates, I'm thinking it was that since no one has answered my q. for whoever has this problem I'm just saying maybe it was getting the new updates or might of being just deleting it completely. I deleted Firefox from revo uninstaller than downloaded it again i already had the firefox 3.6 dl, so it might of done the trick. anyways thanks to everyone who did help.:)
if anyone can answer my previous question- why do the words I type on my laptop into word, the internet any formet on my laptop get all mixed up? For instance Im typing this sentence, and one of the words I type now will for some reason go to the top of the paragraph or the middle, anyone knwo why?

If you are able, install all important windows updates. If not, you may need to get to that later.

Are you positive you followed Everything I sent you?
The problem is you haven't been doing everything I've sent you to do, and haven't been keeping me posted. I can't guess which things you haven't tried.

And things take some time to do... You rarely answer any of the questions I ask you

And no, I have no idea why your words are scrambling together.

When you checked Device Manager if any of your hardware devices had problems they would have been flagged red.
You could try Internet Options> Fonts maybe changing to a different font will fix it, bit of a long shot though the default font on my PC is Times New Roman.
Found someone else with a similar problem maybe what worked for them will help.
