Fed up with gMail & Google

Is there any good cloud based email clients. I'm fed up with gMail and Googles, "I want to know your life". Any personal suggestions ? If not I'm going with just downloading my email locally.

Next will be using Google to search the Net.

Um... Maybe Hotmail or Yahoo - that's the closest I can think of.

The others can't even compete.
