Once again have installed a new drive with the OS and once again that damn WLM will not set up. Have used the same ID and password that all of the other machines have but it just will not receive mail - send yes.
My recent buy of a knock about Compaq had no such problems and I thought my troubles were over - what a joke!

About as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike

It will feel good when you quit doing that.

I think you posted something like this a couple of weeks ago?

What's the over-riding reason you don't try something else?

Probably an SSL setting on the mail server is not matched up correctly in WLM .........

You don't say what e-mail provider you are using but if it is Gmail these are the important settings.

Don't use it then. Plenty more email clients to use.

+1 about the freebies or you could spring for Outlook which really doesn't cost that much either.

    Two things that may help:
    1) Do a repair of WLE via Programs and Features
    2) Compare the account properties for each account that doesn't work with the new install with one that does work; especially the check box on the General tab, and the information on the Servers and Advanced tabs.

Ok Ron will try that as just don't want to have to change my email address on each machine and to all I know and accounts etc - that's an awful lot of work.

Plus thanks fellas for trying but am so disappointed as I changed my password and everything on another machine and it still will not receive - send yes. Like I said it's my nemesis when setting up and I might have to revert back to the Seagates from my new SSD pro tem as they work without a hitch.

I just think that Windows have this one just wrong it should be so easy as I said the new lappy setup no problem so I thought this would be a breeze. How wrong can one be

Well have fixed it fellas I uninstalled it and them reinstalled it and then tried my service provider (national carrier) password. It wouldn't take it so in frustration I kept on hitting OK and after about ten hits it logged in so alls well I don't have to give up my SSD

Thanks again for putting up with the gripes
