IE9 Problems

IE9 works great on my computer with the exception of displaying graphs and other media. (Windows 7, Premium, 32bit) (Easylist and Fanboy adblockers enabled)

For example, if you go to favbrowser.com Web Browser News and Reviews it will not display the second article about Google Chrome marketshare. It will display the print, but not the accompanying graph. My secondary browser, Chrome, will display.

Also, on some sports forum sites it will not display an embedded video. A secondary issue is at times the back button does not work.

When it fails to display, clicking the page compatibility and refresh icons is to no avail. Any thoughts on correcting this issue will be appreciated.

Hello Tor,

Try disabling both easylist and Fanboy and see if the problem persists. If it does, uninstall adobe flash and install the most recent version from adobe.

When the back button doesn't work, try clicking it again. Sometimes it will need 2 clicks, I've noticed.

You are correct ! The problem was caused by EasyList. Fanboy permits display. Thanks !

May I ask, what is your browser of choice ?

(On my machine, when I run Peacekeeper and Sunspider, Chrome tests higher. But my naked eye sees a very miniscule difference)

I myself use IE9. Love how it looks, its speed, its download manager, and that I don't need to install any other browser on my system. There are many useful add-ons for it and it's one of those browsers that doesn't really need to be tweaked to get it going better. Hated IE8 and all previous IE's, but so long as they keep it up like this, I'll be staying with it.

There is no real world neccessity of having the 'fastest possible' browser, and the speed differences don't really matter all that much unless you are just trying to navigate webpages as fast as you can, as in some kind of race. "Mine is faster than yours" sort of thing. Think, if Chrome is the fastest, what is it leaving behind instead? IE is like the universal web browser. More people use it than any other browser. Often I see products being offered as "for IE" or "for anything else". I like the overall compatability IE offers
