    Uplink Cache

When I ran the ICSI Netalyzr recently, this was the only portion of the results that was in red:

We estimate your uplink as having 3800 msec of buffering. This is quite high, and you may experience substantial disruption to your network performance when performing interactive tasks such as web-surfing while simultaneously conducting large uploads. With such a buffer, real-time applications such as games or audio chat can work quite poorly when conducting large uploads at the same time.
How would one reduce the size of the uplink cache?

EDIT: Reading and thinking further about this, I think that what needs reducing is the uplink bandwidth, rather than the cache.

I have never use that program but it seem to me it is just informing you that a lot of your allocated band width is being used up and might effect other things you are trying to do on line. It also might have something to do with your ram usage.

Perhaps, but if there isn't any way to adjust it, I wouldn't understand why it would either measure or mention it.

EDIT: Not sure if this is controlled by the browser, OS, modem or router, but I browsed through the settings in Opera:config, and saw a number of them that looked as though they might be related, but the terminology was sufficiently different that I wasn't sure, and I'm not inclined to experiment with this, because it probably would cause a worse problem.

EDIT: I've also been thinking that this could be related to the fact that Opera periodically pops a nag window (bubble), that complains that it appears that I'm on a slow network, and suggests using Turbo Mode, which is actually for a person on a dialup connection, rather than a cable connection like I'm on.
