Windows 7: no videos on IE

Windows 7 home premium with 64 bit

no videos on IE
I downloaded the latest Adobe flash player 3 times but my IE 9 browser on windows 7 still won't play videos and a lot of pictures are missing. Firefox browser works fine but I want to use IE 9 browser. What is going on?
