internet problem, maybe synchronization, dont know why

    Hello everyone,

Its a friends problem so i dont know all the details very well.

The problem is that for every website, you need to reload 1 to 10 times until it enters. either it says about some problem or it takes for ever. Torrents and skype seem to be working fine with at full speed.

The above is after disabling the antivirus. Before disabling it was almost impossible to browse, with extra slow speeds and having to click reload for minutes...

The line they say works fine and on other computers too. I had checked with a linux cd and it had the same problems. Also the latest drivers are installed. I can check again, and need to get my laptop there once to see.

For me it seems like a synchronization issue. Any ideas on how to further check? or to solve :)

    Thank you

Hello thahgr, and welcome to Sevenforums!

First off, please explain further (if you can) why you believe it to be a syncronization issue. What reasons are there for this? This info may help a great deal!

What antivirus are you using? Based on your answer, I can give recommendations based on other users' experience with and problems because of certain antivirus software. I will provide an unbiased opinion and simply state what I've found to be true through personal experience. Do not forget this step! It is very important that you let me know this information. If you skip anything, please let me know so that I do not assume that you've completed all steps.

Try some of these troubleshooting steps: Internet Troubleshooting Guide

If ALL of that tutorial doesn't work, then 1.) try installing an uninstaller utility (for the simple fact that windows uninstaller often leaves items behind) such as Revo Uninstaller Free. Use this program to 2.) uninstall the wireless driver (AFTER you've installed the wireless driver), and then 3.) attempt to install the newest driver once more using the "advanced" method. REMEMBER! Create a system restore before you attempt to use Revo Uninstaller Free, just in case you remove something you shouldn't!

Failing that, Do steps 1.) & 2.) in the previous paragraph, but for step # 3.), install a slightly older driver instead of the most recent, as (at times) bugs in the most up to date wireless driver cause a slower internet connection speed.

You may also try an SFC scan.

Do let me know how this all turns out for you. Provide any extra information that you can if you still experience trouble.

Need to phone the Internet Provider & get them to check the line they can do it remotely should only take a couple of minutes.
What antivirus & Firewall is your friend using, you could try switching to Microsoft Security Essentials or the free AVG antivirus , Comodo do a very good free firewall.
