Active X does not show up at all
I installed Windows 7 Ultimate RC yesterday on clean install and so far it has been great.
However, I noticed there is no Windows Media Player 12 (which I'm fine with because I don't use WMP).
So I disabled IE 8 and installed Chrome. Then installed the WMP plug-in which worked for me before using Vista. No WMV shows up on Chrome. So I brought back IE 8 and it doesn't even ask for single Active X installation where normally it would ask me to install Flash player ActiveX, WMP ActiveX, etc.
Download the Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin - Port 25: The Open Source Community at Microsoft
I installed this for Chrome since Vista days and it always worked so I think there's a problem lying somewhere else.
Could anyone tell me what is going on? If anything, is there a direct way to watch WMV files on Chrome directly? I would really hate to use both IE and Chrome. I've been using Winamp browser to watch WMV (seems like it's same as IE) but I use Winamp to listen to music, so I didn't bother much.
