I’ve searched but cannot find a solution. My email help is set to online and I want to change it.

Hi and welcome to the fourms
Unfortunatly you are going to have to provide a little more detail than that. For instance, who is you email provider? Also, exactly what is your issue? Do you want to make the email help files work offline or am I completly missunderstanding you?!
Stephen
FYI - I set the program as default, selected it but can’t figure out how to change the defaults.
Oh, I see. So you want windows live mail to open all your email not an online service am I correct?
Assuming you are using WLM 2011 (the steps are similar in 2010 but in a slightly different place)
- Open WLM
- Click the file button.
- Click options then add account.
- Add your emial account to WLM by inputting the email address and your password.
- Make sure that works and wait for all your email to be downloaded to WLM (or not, depending on the email compny's set-up)
- Now go to file, then options and then mail
- Go to the general tab
- Under default messaging programs, click make default for both options.
Now you have done all this, use WLM instead of the online interface for yor emails.
Hope this works and I'm undersanding what you are asking!
Stephen
I can’t find the file button please be more explicit.
Ok a have a definitive guide that joins the above posts together.
If you are using WLM 2011, it will look like the image that seavixen32 posted. If it looks like that, follow the directions I gave you earlier in my second post. If it does not look like that but looks like the attached image you are using 2009/10. Follow these steps.
- Click the icon that is circled and labeled 1 in the image
- Click show menu bar
- Then click the tools button on the menu bar at the top (circled 2)
- Click account options
- Enter your account details
- Save them and make sure they work
- Go to tools again and then options
- Go to the general tab
- Under default messaging programs, click make default for both options.
Now, please note that I DO NOT use windows live mail 2009/10 at home and as a result can not be sure that these instructions are 100% correct. The labels for the buttons may be different and the method for adding an account may be different. Please do not moan if I get some of the labels wrong. Thanks!
Stephen
There is no genera ltab.
PLEASE could you tell us if your are using WLM 2011 or 2009/10. If it has the ribbon interface shown by seavixon, it is 2011. If it has the other interface shown by me earlier, it is 2009/10.
Refer to the attached image to locate the general tab.
