    Youtube displays wrong language

Hironcerr, mine states English (United Kingdom). I am in Australia and I prefer UK English, if there is no Australian one. I am sorry I did not notice, that you posted this query. I had already checked all Google language possibilities, apart from the Gear. SewCat7 By the way, Google websites appear in English. I only have the problem with Youtube.

I don't know what you mean by "Automatic". Mine just says "English" and there are no check marks in the table below that other than in the "English" box.
Hi Roncerr, The encoding in IE9 has an option Autoselect, Western European (ISO). When I untick Autoselect, I get just English. I used to have English, but somebody on the Microsoft Forum pointed out that Autoselect would might solve my problem. It does not seem to make any difference. Sewcat7
The language choice I was talking about has nothing to do with the browser you are using. It's on the Google Search website, preferences: Preferences . Select "Languages" on the left.

Previously, when I mentioned the "gear icon" in the upper right corner, I was referring to this page: Google Advanced Search=

    Display language wrong in YouTube

Hi again Roncerr, I also noticed under Advanced Search, that my display language is English. I had actually checked all the Google Advance Search before as well. However, I do not want all web pages translated. Sometimes I do searches in German and I want German to be displayed. I do not seem to have a problem with Google only with Youtube. Sewcat7

    Youtube displaying wrong language

Hi Roncerr, thanks for how to change the language in Youtube (Wikipedia). I always use this procedure to change into English. Unfortunately, I have to change it every time, I look at a video in Youtube. It is not a permanent solution. However, yesterday I noticed, that when I changed the filter in the Google settings to exclude all sexually explicit content, all of a sudden, Youtube was no longer displaying any German content. I am going to see, if this solution lasts. Thanks for your help. Sewcat7
