    Outlook 2010 problem

Hi everybody and many thanks for reading my post..

    My question is as follows:-

We are currently using 3 computers.. one using outlook 2010 and the other 2 the original outlook express that came boxed with XP.

Problem I have is with my outlook 2010 computer. Normally when we receive emails whoevers computer they go to first is the sole person that receives them but with my outlook 2010 computer I receice them and they also go to all the other computers .

Is it possible to change the settings in outlook 2010 to correct this?

    Many thanks for your time.

    Kind regards

James, welcome to the windows 7 forums.

What you need to do is to tell outlook 2010 to not leave the messages on the server when it retrieves new messages.

It is in the account settings, change then more settings, last screen uncheck the box for "leave a copy of the message on the server"

That way, once you retrieve your mail, it deletes it from the server and the other machines won't pick it up as new.

If you use imap instead of POP, It is working exactly the way IMAP is designed.
delete it from one place and it will be gone everyplace.

Gmail used in POP can delete when the box is checked will work the way you want.
What I suspect is that you setup your gmail account as IMAP instead of POP.
