    Download Manager for Firefox 11.0

    I've used an old version of Firefox but needed to upgrade so went to the latest 11.0
    But "Free Download Manger" is no longer compatible. Any suggestions for a good compatible free manager?

    (Also, I find V 11.0 a bit sluggish)

    Considering that I am using Firefox 11, along with Free Download Manager Version 3.8 build 1133, and the new FDM plugin 1.57, and that, with those programs installed and running, FDM works correctly every time I want to download a file, I have to conclude that the statement that FDM is not compatible with Firefox 11 is likely to be incorrect.

    In addition to Flatiron suggestions if you did just a upgrade try this.

    Go to your Firefox Profiles at C/User/Your User Name/AppData/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/Your Profile/Extensions and look for the folder for Free Download Manger.

    There should be a file called install.rdf in that folder. Open it in a text editor Notepad++ Home

    Now you need to change the maxversion to 11. Find this line

    <em:maxVersion>3.0.*</em:maxVersion> (the 3 could be a higher number is just an example)
    Change to
    <em:maxVersion>11.*</em:maxVersion>

    Save the file and close the editor.

    Restart Firefox is see if extension will work now.
    You will get a window that will open up in Firefox asking you about this extension just click okay or something like that.

    The default plugin is 1.5.5 which appears incompatible with FF v11. The FDM plugin 1.5.7 appears to be a "nightly". Getting to the nightly isn't that obvious.

    FDM 3.9 RC1 supports Firefox 11

    Or if you'd rather use the stable version, this is how I got FDM 3.8 Build 1173 working:

    I edited the install.rdf file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Free Download Manager\Firefox\extension (the changes I made are in bold):

    <em:targetApplication> <!-- Firefox -->
    <Description>
    <em:id>{ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384}</em:id>
    <em:minVersion>1.5</em:minVersion>
    <em:maxVersion>12.*</em:maxVersion>
    </Description>
    </em:targetApplication>

    After restarting Firefox I could enable the plugin from the Add-on Manager
