    Deleting Email In Windows Mail

When I open an email message in Windows Mail and then delete it the next unread message is displayed.

Is there a setting that will just allow me to delete the message without the next message opening?

    Thanks Guys

You could try unticking as highlighted.

I just tried that and it didn't work.

That setting is for the preview pane and I don't use the preview pane but I unchecked it and like I said, it doesn't work..

I just Googled it and found that a lot of people have the same question.
    Unfortunately, there is no solution.
It's just a glitch in Windows Mail, either by fault or design..

    Oh well..

If I delete an email in WLM 2009, the one below is automatically displayed in the preview pane.

Yes RR, I understand that but when not using the preview pane and double clicking to open a message if you delete it while it's open the next message is automatically opened...

To delete a message that's already open without the next one opening you have to close the open message and then delete it.
    Which is an extra step..

Either way, that's how it works so there isn't much can be done about it.
