Browsers Not Working - Internet Connection Fine - Tried "Everything"

I mainly use Google Chrome as my internet browser and about a week ago it started acting up. It would get stuck on a page or would repeatedly send me back to my homepage. I was able to use Skype, Ventrillo, World of Warcraft, etc. My AVG wasn't catching any problems, but the problem was happening. I would restart the computer and the browser would work fine for a little while, then stop.

Following CNET's advise, I installed CCleaner and Malware Software and ran them. No problems detected.

    Browser problem has gotten worse!

I found a similar forum here. Browsers not working, internet connection is fine And tried everything that was suggested to that user, but still no luck with my computer.

I spent an hour+ with AVG Tech Support trying to resolve the issue to no prevail. Please help me!!!

Given that a reboot seems to at least temporarily fix the problem and you can connect with other protocols Im leaning towards network or AVG

What were the results when you cleared you cache (suggested in the other thread)?

Have you tried another browser to confirm/deny it is Chrome?

Have you tried with AVG disabled?

Have you tried it in safe mode (F8) with networking?
