contact is NOT in address book but shows when composing email

Using Windows 7 HomePrem; latest version.
When I look in my "Contacts" I see "Ed Wiens" ONCE only.
When I compose a new email, I see "Ed Wiens" TWICE; once is his current addy and once for his old addy. I need to delete the old one but it won't show in the Contacts to be deleted.

How can this happen and how can I delete the old one, please?

    Welcome to the forum

Take a note of the new one and then try to delete-it
Close your browser then reopen and see if the old one exist.
Edit the old one to reflect the new one.

    Good luck

Thanks, Hanna 1; I deleted the one and only "Ed Wiens" in the contacts and that removed BOTH from the list that appeared when composing an email. Then I re-entered all the info for that contact.

I hope Microsoft reads these problems too. I sure miss Outlook Express.

I had the same issue after updating to Windows Live 2011 last week. Log into Windows Mail (your @live.com email) Once you do this both will sync up and your contact list will be back.

hmmmm; seems I don't have such an email addy as xxxx@live.com but that's interesting.

Go to your START menu and in the SEARCH window type in 'Windows Live Messenger'. Click on it once found. Your username will be youremailaddress@live.com or .ca (if you're in Canada) and see if you can remember the password you setup with the installation of Windows Live.

Not that it matters, "ilovelakes" but I did that and the "Windows Live Essentials 2011" dialog box shows my addy as sticks_432@hotmail.com. I don't use Messenger and have no xbox.

If your email address is sticks_432@internetprovider.com then change it to sticks_432@live.com or whatever your email is@live.com.

Thanks, but I'll leave well-enough alone.
