I CAN post a screen shot, but I can NOT bring on the phenomenon, so that I can take a screen shot. I have said that it does not last - but I don't want it to happen at all.
Instead of a screen shot (right now) I will state again that : when I first open emails, the body is empty, but there are attachments. Later when it has come good, the emails appear with content (in the body) and NO attachments. I will send a screen shot when it becomes 'available'.

Okay, you could also try pressing the "print screen sysrq" key on your keyboard when it appears again. Then open paint and press Paste see if it shows what you want it to (the image i am asking you to post) and save the picture as JPEG or PNG and upload to thread. Screenshot with Paint

I've Googled this, and the consensus of the results seem to lean towards a full (or almost full) Temporary Internet Files (TIF) folder. It could also be a corrupted entry in this folder that is causing the problem. Since the purpose of the folder is transient in nature (hence Temporary), the first thing to do is to empty it. Note that, regardless of browser, you will have this (or a similar) folder. What size have you set for this folder? Although the allowed range (in I.E.) is 8MB-1024MB, with a recommended size of between 50MB-250MB, you might be better off increasing the size to 512MB.
I also note that you state that the emails start off as attachments, but subsequently become good. This also points towards a full TIF, or one that has insufficient space to hold the contents of the current message. TIF operates as First-In-First-Out (FIFO), and what is happening is that the oldest file is removed in an attempt to make room for the new one (hence the delay you are experiencing). Unfortunately, this doesn't always happen as it should, particularly if there is a corrupt file within the folder.

I have already emptied the temporary Internet Files Folder. If it helped (which I THOUGHT it had) the improvement did not last more than a day.
I did not set the size of that folder - and I don't know where or how to do that.

What browser are you using?
Don't forget that this folder is used for all network traffic, and if its size is set too small it can give rise to the type of problem you are having with emails. Is or does your general browsing seem slow as well?

Can you tell me where and how to set the size of the T.I.F. folder ?
I have recently developed an access problem that was fixed by using Chrome instead of Firefox. However, the Chrome's font is almost illegible - like that of Google Earth - and the fix for THAT seems NOT to be permanent.

I repeat that I can not 'bring it on', so I can NOT send you a screen shot. This morning W.L.M. displayed its emails normally- as though there was no problem. Yesterday I found the Temporary Internet Files options, and ticked the one to empty that folder when ever the browser closes. I'm hoping 'browser' is not limited to I.E.
If the phenomenon returns, I plan to open and close I.E. to see if the ticked option fixes my problem.
