I think I may have just solved my problem. I changed the preferences on how I see the page in the forum. I got rid of all the crap on the right side of the page wich made the post column in the page bigger, and it so far has gotten rid of the googleads doubleclik problem in the back button. Thanks for the help, and I am going to look into the Opt Out Of Network Advertising page you linked also.

I'm 73 in Feb.. Seems I am not stating what I say in my posts clearly or members here not reading correctly since getting wierd responses in regard to them. To be clear I have no problem with back button. If I did at an earlier time it was because didn't see how it worked.I guess that would be problem that others have 'don't understand how it works' most of the time anyway. Of course there are viruses vaquelly called redirect or similar which can be difficult to get rid of since security dosn't find and remove them ,MSE for example didn.t find and remove had to find other freeware to get job done I think anybody that had those bugs and got rid of them without paying to get it done knows what I mean. Once again I don't see how compatability has anything to do with back button which controls movement from page to page(in a window?).

This problem is a joke that MS hasn't fixed it for several versions of IE.

I'm sick of hitting the back button multiple times while surfing the web.

I don't care what a small ad company is doing with their ads, i care what a multi billion company like MS is going to do to fix it.

If it's not fixed soon, I am jumping over to Google Chrome. Enough is enough !

If you run across those sites again, please post a link to them - I would like to glance at the source code.

Thanks for that example. I was able to repeat the problem a few times. It seems that the longer that you stay on a page, the more adverts build up in the "back button history" (but IE10 did not show them like IE9 does - see this post).

If you must use IE, then open each link in a new tab instead of clicking thru.

Figured it out and a solution for those needing help!

If you Block 3rd party Cookies then you will have this problem. If you enable it then it goes away.
Here is an example page:

Solution:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/i...=1361780388401

On Internet Explorer Menu select the option of : Tools / Internet options / Privacy / Advance

and then select option of ENABLE 3rd party Cookies

select OK, and then OK again to exit.

All works

The few times I've run into the problem, I found it was because some URLs automatically redirect to another URL so hitting the back button just took me to the site that instantly redirected me back. It happens so fast I often don't even see it. I've found the best way to deal with that when it it happens is to quickly hit the back button twice.

I actually rarely use the back button. If I'm going to be going back to a previous page after going to a new one, I open the new one in a new tab using the mouse wheel button (it took a while to learn how to use it without the wheel turning on me). When I finish with the new page, I delete it and I'm right back where I started. for example, I have two tabs open right now: the menu page and this one. When I finish with this one, I will delete it and that will take me back to menu. I often have several tabs open while browsing and I can navigate between tabs just by clicking on them. The rare times I use the back button are when I wasn't thinking ahead.
