Lost Emails and Contacts in WLM

    Hi

I have WLM Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3555.0308), and it has been working very well until this morning when I opened it up and tried to send an email, when I clicked on the To.. icon I got a message box saying "Unable to choose recipients", I also have a related (I think) problem where when I click on an email in my inbox or any of my storage folders I get a message "A problem occurred while trying to open this message" "A problem has occurred please try again"

I have rebooted and tried again twice, but still have the same problem.

When I hit send and receive I get new emails but also cannot open them.

BTW my Hotmail accounts on the Web are fine.

I would appreciate any advice on how to fix this.

    Regards

    Daniel

Have you tried the repair feature in add remove programs > windows live essentials.
You could also try completely uninstalling and reinstalling it.

Give a shot to the latest version:
Windows Live Essentials - Download Windows Live Essentials
    Download Windows Live Messenger 2011 (15.4.3555) - FileHippo.com

    Hi

I tried a repair then a uninstall reinstall, booting between each step but neither worked.

Any ideas what else I could try?

    Thanks

Take a look at this: A Problem has occurred / Unable to choose recipients - Windows - Microsoft Answers

I hope to come back with more suggestions.

    Hi,

Read and run this fix it: You receive a "0x80070002" or "0x80070003" error code after you download an update from Windows Update, from Microsoft Update, or from Windows Server Update Services see if it resolves the problem.

See this thread also: Windows Live Email: "A problem occurred while trying to open this message."

Have you made any changes to your computer recently? Specifically windows updates? Try a System restore prior to those: System Restore

Let us know how it goes.

If they don't I'd suggest you to uninstall it completely with CCleaner and reinstalling the latest version from the links provided earlier, don't forget to back up your stuff: How do I import and export email, contacts, and calendars with Windows Live Mail? - Import Email Messages or Back Up and Restore Windows Live Mail

    Hi

I tried the fixes you showed the links to and did a System restore to a point three days ago, when I know WLM was working, but I still had the problem.

I then uninstalled WLM with Reevo Uninstaller and then ran Ccleaner, rebooted and reinstalled WLM from the links you sent, opened up WLM and it found the previous accounts I had (four of them) and synced, I signed in and VOILA, it all works well.

Thanks so much for your help,

    Regards
