IE9 not giving option to save CSVs

    Hi

I am trying to download csvs from a HTTP stock exchange site.

I do not get the usual IE9 open save dialog when I click the site link to download the file. Instead I get another browser window showing the required data in delimited format only. There is no option to save.

In my settings 'Do not save encrypted pages to disk' is unchecked.
    IE9 is updated.

I would be grateful for any advice

If this was working before, and has stopped working (if very recently, suggest a System Restore point from just before the problem began), I would try resetting IE.

I can't be sure because downloading files hasn't been a regular thing for me.

I tried a Reset as you suggested.
Little difference. The 'Save' bar isn't shown, the file is opened delimited in a new tab and the tab is opened. The tab opening is different but still no save options.

Can you post a screen shot of the dialog with the missing choice? And another with the choice, if you can find a file that will display it correctly? Screens of all the issues will really help, if you are able.

    I will get back.
It's the locating of a file that does download correctly that may be a problem.

    Thanks for the responses.

I had never downloaded a csv file, so I found this site with a sample. I went to IE9 and clicked on download, I got the usual save dialog popup at bottom.

I'm assuming that is the save dialog you are missing?

What happens if you right click the file and choose save target as?

Ok, attached are screenshots (1 and 2) which show a file available for download from another forum and the csv file (3 and 4) which is not behaving as it should.

I hope I've done the attchment correctly and they reveal what is needed to investigate.

Unfortunately they do not show, not sure why if you followed the tute. You can also upload to an image site, and post the links (TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting for instance). A Guy

    Yes.

Now that was strange. When i right clicked then 'Save Target As' the first time it opened a SaveAs dialog with the file type as .TXT. The second time it opened the SaveAs dialog with file type as .CSV.
But still no 'Save Open' option bar.

It seemed to go ok. I saved as a jpg. Does it matter what type?
