Windows Live Mail 2011 Error 0x80041161

Hi, yesterday I upgraded my HDD to a SSD and clean installed windows 7 home premium onto the SSD. I then updated windows and installed windows live mail 2011, but when I try to run the program it comes up with "Windows Live Mail could not be started. It may not be installed correctly. Make sure that your disk is not full or that you are not out of memory. (0x80041161)".

I have adequate space and 16GB of RAM, I have tried running wlarp.exe, unistalling and reinstalling and deleting everything windows live mail related (including the registry data) before reinstalling. I have also tried installing and copy and pasting the program files from my old pc with no success.

    Any ideas guys?

In the folder C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Installer there is a repair utility. Its name is wlarp.exe. You might like to use it to fix the error that you have cited.

    Good luck.

I tried both and neither worked, so I reinstalled windows and disabled windows update (I read somewhere that one of the windows updates messes up windows live mail) and it works fine now :)

No doubt reinstalling Windows worked. But you must continue to use Windows Update to fix discovered security vulnerabilities; do it manually if necessary on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. At least install the important security updates.

In my case this 100% happened because of disabling the service = "Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant". Putting it back to Manual or Automatic solved it.
