Can't connect with Links online or in IncrediMail messages.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium, IE 9, ISP Cox cable, and IncrediMail 2. When I click on a Link in a web page site, or in a message in my IncrediMail, it won't go to the Link, just leaves a blank connecting space at the top. I don't know if this contributes to the problem, but when I click on theTools icon in the upper right of an IE 9 page, and click on Internet Options, then click on the Content tab, then go to Content Advisor and click on Enable, a small box comes up for a password, having the word "peanut" as a hint. I did not put that word there and my wife and I are the only ones here, both in our 80s, and are the only ones who use the PC here, except for my 13 year old grandson is here about every weekday to catch the school bus here, and he downloads a lot of Ipod music and plays games online. Could a setting in the Content category be the cause of my problem, and if so, how do I get back in there to reset the setting? Hope you can help.
