    Lost contacts in WLM

Hi I am use WLM with 2 accounts ie 2 users, recently had to upload an update before I was able to access WLM.

Now on 1 account and only one account we can access contacts as before, on the other account, clicking on the contacts bar on the lower left of the screen and nothing happens.

Any help, sugestions would be appreciated.

Are both users, or one, or the other "signing-in" to WLM. For two users, each with his own LiveID, there can be up to 3 contact lists with only one visible at a time: user1 signed-in, user2 signed-in, or neither signed-in. (The signed-in contact list for a given user would be duplicated at contacts.live.com which can be seen in a browser when that user signs in at that site.)

Hi Neil, here's how I set WLM.

First, I set my accounts (Gmail & AOL) to allow access using POP, make a note of the settings and add them manually to Windows Live Mail, otherwise it will try to use IMAP which I don't use, (I don't have any Apps that require it). Gmail messages get archived, AOL stays unread when accessed by WLM,.

All my contacts are in my Hotmail Account. I use it to sign-in to WLM. Once signed-in, I add the accounts I use and delete the Hotmail Account.

WLM has good features and security. By setting the Options for:- General, Read, Receipts, Send, Compose, Signatures, Spelling, and Advanced. Plus Safety Options for:- Junk Mail, Safe Senders, Blocked Senders, International, Phishing and Security correctly.

The Hotmail account doesn't need to be added to WLM just to use the signed-in (LiveID) contact list. Just signing-in is enough.

On initial sign-in to WLM the account is added automatically. I get signed-in automatically on opening WLM. Have not tried sign-out then sign-in so don't know the outcome as yet. Will try it later.

Whenever you close WLM you are essentially "signed out"; that's why when reopening WLM it puts up the splash screen that says "Signing-in". I don't recall my LiveID account being added automatically after my initial install on WLM 2009. (That was a long time ago; perhaps it was and I deleted it right away.)

I can't find any other way to sign-out of WLM except for the option to work off line.

Options>>Connection>>"Stop Signing In" (at least in the 2009 version).

I was aware of that option, but am quite happy to let WLM sign me in automatically as its only me using my pc's. I can sign-in with another ID but it does not add that account.
