Address book lost during Windows live mail update

I was forced to update by MS.

Now my address book is empty.

I Googled the problem & see many others with same issue.

Please advise the official MS solution.

    Thanks, Joe

Welcome to Seven Forums joeleighton. Hopefully a WLM expert will come along, but until then.

From what I was able to find, the contacts are located in C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts\{b5f3929f-ba60-4632-ad4e-b602b1c8e007}\DBStore

There is a contacts.edb file in there.

I'm unsure if they can be imported if they are not in csv format.

Not sure there is a solution. Only advice about how to do the upgrade: Mandatory (?) WLE Upgrade
Note: Make sure you have checked both of your contact lists: your signed-in (the one duplicated at contacts.live.com) and not-signed-in (the one you should have manually backed up if you don't sign in).
