ie7 freeze

dont know if windows has done an update or something, but this is my problem.
I can be viewing a web page.I click to see another section or scroll down the page.I then get the swirling circle as its trying to load.It doesnt load, so I have to click th eback arrow and try again. Most times this works, but sometimes it comes up with a white screen and under the http://www section at the top of the page it says "BLANK" .
I dont think its a display driver issue but its possible.

I have had for about two weeks, it just seems very unstable, I'm not sure if the last windows update or eset? I'm using firefox as my browser for the time being, I tried restting settings and deleting everything, it just seems hit and miss. It's as if it doesn't like connecting to certain sites. I have always found any version IE to be pretty poor tbh.

There is a Windows Update setting called "Never check for Updates" but you need to remember to manually check for updates, ideally on the second Tuesday of every month.

BTW, since you have an Intel i7-920 processor and 3 Gigs of RAM, you need not worry about upgrading to IE8. It may be slower but you won't notice it on your machine. It adds some nice features as well. And you won't have to pay the IE7 tax in Australia: Use Internet Explorer 7, Pay Extra: Retailer / Infopackets.com

Perhaps you might consider updating to IE 9 ? It may solve any glitches.

So are you saying the "IE Freeze" problem was caused by an automatic update to IE9?
