Windows 7: windows live mail won't open adresses

Hi, I have two dell computers. Before, I used to be able to go to craigslist, etc and click on the link and it open a blank email. Now, the links don't open. I checked and still have windows live essentials. I tried to make windows live mail my default in the programs area, but even thou I clicked on 'ok' at end, it won't stay there. I have google chrome as my email too. If anyone can help me, I would love it. I don't know alot about computers. thank you.

Start/All Programs/Default Programs/"Set Program Access and Cpmputer Defaults". Move the dot to "Windows Live Mail". Make sure "Enable Access" is checked. Click "OK" at the bottom. (May help to reboot also...can't hurt.) By the way, the dot will not still be there if you go back to "Default Programs" but WLM will be the default email program.

If "Mail to:" links don't open WLM go to Default Programs/"Associate a file type...". Go to the bottom of the page, The Protocols area, and make sure "MAILTO" is set to Windows Live Mail. If not, use the "Change Program" button at the top right and select Windows Live Mail in the next window.
