    Live Mail Contacts Problem

Still battling with Windows Live Mail. I have imported my address book contacts about a dozen times now from XP and want them on my local PC when I am offline.

I do not want to be forced by MSN to sign into Live Mail ID to see information that belongs to me, that I want accessible on my hard drive at all times.

Is there any way that I can prevent Windows stealing my contacts? Or can I import them somehow to 'my documents'? Or can anyone suggest an address book/data programme that works alongside Windows Live Mail?

I really don't understand why MSN are so determined to help themselves to users data and then force them to access their own information through the pointless LIveID operating system, that is simply another completely unneccessary layer of control/signing in/data harvesting etc.

Any advice greatfully received - Thanks
