    Importing bookmarks into IE9

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but this is a laborius process.

Import bookmarks to Chrome, zoom they are right on the bookmarks bar. Same with FF. I cna update them in 20 seconds.

With IE, I have to import to favorites bar and then rearrange them alphabetically. I am missing something?

I use Chrome and FF, but IE9 more. And this is just a killer, as I am always adding bookmarks.

    Hello Eknirb,

Favorites in Internet Explorer are stored in your C:\Users\(user-name)\Favorites folder if you wanted to backup and restore them from here instead.
In Internet Explorer, when you click on Favorites (menu bar), you can right click on a favorite in the section you want to rearrange, then click on Sort by name to have them arranged alphabetically if not already.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Well...I followed the instructions...and they ended up where you see them. But I want them across the top, you know, where bookmarks go?

That's actually the Favorites bar folder inside \Users\<user>\Favorites, not the favorites folder itself. If you've imported favorites and you want them along the favorites bar, place them in the Favorites Bar folder (and of course enable the "Favorites bar" in the IE UI as well).

this isn't it. I import them to favorites bar, I get this. So which is it, 'bookmarks bar' or 'favorites bar.' and why are there two? bookmarks ARE favorites. I am giving IE a chance here and it's just 1000x more cumbersome (to me) than Chrome.

The favorites on the "Favorites Bar" in IE are saved in the folder below.

    C:\Users\(user-name)\Favorites\Favorites Bar

However, if you use "Copy as Path" on the folder above, it actually pastes as this below.

    C:\Users\(user-name)\Favorites\Links

is it just me, or is that waaaay complex?

    So.

If I want to import an HTML file of bookmarks, where do I say I want them to go, the destination, to when it says 'complete' I see them arranged across the top where bookmarks are supposed to go.

Personally, I don't use the import/export option in IE. Instead, I just manually copy them from the folders. It's much more reliable this way.

    Favorites:
    C:\Users\(user-name)\Favorites

    Favorites bar:
    C:\Users\(user-name)\Favorites\Favorites Bar

That is the "Favorites bar". "Bookmarks bar" appears to just be a folder that you have in your "Favorites bar" folder.
