    Dusty,

I've been checking around, and found that Facebook (Fb) is very dependent on Java, and Java script, and doesn't work very well with IE.
This may just be a complaint by some people, but it isn't true. I have a cheap laptop I bought and facebook works perfectly fine on it using IE9. Java from Oracle is not needed for facebook, unless you want it for facebook games and/or other apps. Beware that you expose yourself to threats by using some of those games/apps as they often harvest data about you. Java is a thing that you want to keep constantly updated, or uninstall it completely.

Carol, If you do not use the following, please remove:
    acer registration
    acer arcade deluxe
    acer games
    acer screensaver
    acer updater
    bingbar
    canoscan toolbox 4.9
    google toolbox for internet exployer
    hotkey utility
    identity card
**Please remove ALL java, and reinstall the newest one once more, only if you use it for apps/games. if not, leave uninstalled
    kodak easyshare
    manual canoscan lide 25
    **microsoft office click-run
**microsoft office starter 2010 - these should not be installed with Office 2010 purchased license
-If you don't use firefox, remove it
    nero 9 essentials
open office if you don't use it
welcome center - what is this? sounds fishy
windows live mesh active xcontrol for remote connection

PLease tell me what you use winlockersuite for? I recommend against such a program if you value speed, otherwise it is fine if you use it. Many people think very poorly of it and recommend against it, as do I.

Carol, a friend mentioned that it could have something to do with your browsing cookies. See here, and use option 3: Cookies - Delete - you may have to restart IE and uncheck that box again (and click delete once more) just so it saves the setting and keeps future cookies

You haven't told me if you have all windows updates installed. IE9 is the most secure IE browser, and I recommend using it over 8.

The virus scans came out clean, through updated avast and updated malwarebytes?

how did you see sex pictures on facebook? Was it a link outside of facebook, or did some punk upload bad photos. Facebook does not monitor photos unless they are reported. Are you sure it was facebook that led you to this? Did you click a link, or anything? Please explain in detail.

Are you still having problems? If you are, it may be that you just need to free up some resources. Was it you who needed more help on 'optimizing' your windows? I can show you how, using Brink's tutorial, if you wish it. It will do things like remove startup programs (so that it doesn't slow down the computer), etc.

After clearing your cookies, I would also flush the DNS:

How to Flush DNS in Windows Using the Command Prompt

Step 1 – Close all open web browsers and applications on your computer.
Step 2 – Start > All Programs > Accessories > Right Click Comand Prompt > Click Run As Admin
Step 3 – At the command prompt, enter " ipconfig /flushdns " followed by pressing the “enter” key.

Wasn't as bad as the NWS said it could be, but you never know.
Had one build, and go just North of us when I logged off. Then around 3:30pm edt it got rough for about an hour.
At 4pm we had a bolt hit just down the street, and the power blinked off, then back on.
Scared the beegeezus outa' me! but it was .

Very spotty rainfall we had .75" others had less, some more, mostly fireworks.

There was one sad note, a spectator at the NASCAR race at Long Pond, Pa. was stuck by lighting, and didn't survive.

    Now,

    Dusty:
Carols mywinlockersuite should be a trial version.
Acer PCs are pre-installed with a FREE trial version of EgisTec Shredder.

That's a good idea DBone has to flush the DNS, Option One: How to See and Flush the Contents of the DNS Resolver Cache in Vista and Windows 7

    What do you mean?

    thank you everyone carol
Were you able to remove mywinlockersuite? And, is Fb working okay for you now?

With all the removal it would be a good move to preform some maintenance, see part two: Computer Maintenance Guide

    Your welcome!

That is very good. Glad it is working better for you. Remember, once every month, it is a good idea to do a full scan with your antivirus. This will let it do a more thorough search of your computer for malware.

Let me know if you would like to try and speed it up just a little more using some common windows 7 tricks.

Every month, it would be a good idea to also defragment your hard drive. This keeps things running smoothly. Take care!

You do not need to delete your cookies every day, as they are meant to help you log in to websites easier, etc. Only if 'sex things' pop up

Take Care, Carol. Let us know if you need any further help, and we'll try not to confuse you
