How do I stop new tabs opening

When I look something up on Google, the link I clicked on comes up in a new tab and not in the same tab that Google was on. How can I sort this problem out?

Hello Nat, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You can uncheck Always switch to new tabs when they are created in the Tabbed Browsing Settinngs in Internet Explorer to stop this. :)

After you click on Google Search, on the results page click on the gear top right > Search settings >
under Where results open remove check next to "Open each selected result in a new browser window".

Then click Save at bottom > Ok

Brink: The always switch to new tabs when they are created is unchecked.
Flatiron: Thankyou so much, what you said to do has worked :)
