internet explorer 9

I keep getting a message that internet exployer has stopped working due to a program and needs to restart.
Ant suggestions on how to fix this?
Thanks for any help.

Hello kbyuar,

Did it say what program? Could be a add-on or toolbar that you installed for IE9. If you like, you could reset Internet Explorer, then enable the installed add-ons or toolbars one at a time and test to see if IE9 stops working or not to see if one them may be the cause.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

See this thread, it may help

Hi kb7uar,

I had a similar problem see this thread Getting constant pop up "IE has stopped working" for me it was fixed by uninstalling Avast!.

I did run sfc /scannow and it found integrity violations and fixed them. Running that certainly won't hurt and may take care of something you're unaware of. If you just want it to check run sfc /verifyonly, that will check for any problems without doing anything else.

You might look at event viewer to see if it shows something, maybe a repeat program showing every time you get the error.

ie9 keeps stopping

While searching the internet, I keep getting this pop up on internet exployer.
internet exployer has stopped working. Microsft is searching for a solution and will notify you if one is found.
I have tried reseting my browser settings. Does anyone have a clue as to how to fix this? I have to keep restarting ie9 when this happens.

IE 9 cannot be uninstalled. Instead, you can turn off Internet Explorer by following this screenshot below.

I hope this can help.

Actually that depends on if IE8 was the default web browser in Windows 7 first, and if it was upgraded to IE9 through Windows Update or not.
