mails not appearing to recipient as intended

I'm using Windows Live and Windows 7
Any forwarded mail or newly composed mail does not appear to the recipient as I sent it. If i send mail to myself my font Comic Sans is always defaulted to Calibri. some jokes i forwarded were unreadable due to format changes. This is a fairly recent problem I believe.

If this is recent it maybe due to some updates you have recieved but thats only a stab in the dark. You could try a repair of Windows Live mail. To do this go to control panel> programs and features, click on Microsoft Live Essentials and you will be given a choice to unistall or repair Windows Live Components. Back up your mail and contacts first just to be safe.
    Is your pc virus free?

    repair windows live

thanks for your help. I repaired Windows Live but am concerned that my messing around in the options and fonts may be the problem now.
when i send mail to myself written in Comic Sans it arrives in Calibri.
The header says unicode utf 8. Is this what's doing it? what codes should I be using?
In mail options in fonts what does 'proportional font' and 'fixed width font' settings do?
Whats the difference between HTML and plain text in mailing?

Go to tools>options>Read Tab. Do you have read all messages in plain text uncheckd?
