    attachment size

Hi Folks. I am getting a warning window in Outlook 2010 telling me that my attachment exceeds the maximum. Although this message doesn't always appear, several emails with 12mb attachments have not been delivered but no indication was given that they were not sent they simply didn't arrive. My Virgin maximum is 20mb. Any suggestions?

Take a look at this: "Attachment size exceeds the allowable limit" error when you add a large attachment to an email message in Outlook 2010

Note that you should not exceed the limit that is set by your ISP (contact them to find what this limit is), and then set values accordingly.

Hi Mr Yorkshireman and thank-you. I searched this forum and also Google but I didn't get the Mr Fixit option which I need as I don't have the confidence to edit the rigistry. I've run the fix and I am now waiting to see if a 15mb email which I sent to myself gets delivered. I have not received it yet.

No, the email hasn't been delivered. i double-checked with Virgin and I definitely have a 20mb limit.

Incidentally, there was obviously no warning message when I was adding the attachments but that has been the case on several occasions; the email simply went off but didn't get delivered.

    problem solved

I was going through my Virgin Email website, I use Outlook not the Virgin message program which is where it shows the SPAM it has collected and I found Message Returned emails in there. The Virgin filter had blocked these messages which were telling me that the recipient's mailbox would not accept the attachments. Normally the Virgin filter is perfect and I don't need to scrutinise the SPAM bin - so I don't, hence the issue under discussion. I need to check it more often in future.
