Yes, all favorites and settings would have transfered over when it upgraded to IE9.

Have you considered giving Firefox a try to see how you like it? It has it's menu bar on top.

Yes, I do have mozilla which I use for school. I don't know why I like internet explorer better. I think I'm more irritated with the fact that my computer was exactly how I liked it before I left and now its different and I have no way of knowing what was changed and how.

It was just updated to IE9 from IE8 from Windows Update. If you uninstall the Windows Internet Explorer 9, hide it in Windows Update to prevent from reinstalling, then you should be back to IE8 to have the menu bar on top. :)

Brink, thank you so much for your fast responses! The problem now is when I go to uninstall it, there is no "windows internet explorer 9" in my view installed updates. There is nothing pertaining to internet explorer at all. I'm at a loss of what to do now. I am almost 100% positive that I had ie9 before, the only difference is that the menu bar is in a different spot.

Hmm, that is odd. While in Internet Explorer, click on Help (menu bar) and About Internet Explorer just to verify what version you have.

Oh I found it after looking again, thank you hammer head. It says it was done in March though. Why would it just now move the menu bar though? I guess it's not that big of a deal, I'm just so used to it being on top like it was. Even my 5 year old daughter who plays computer games noticed it was different and she doesn't like it either.
