If he found nothing wrong, no viruses, no trojans, nothing and the only thong wrong is WLM, then whynot just go to another email program, you could use your live account and just log into the web browser account at live.com and use it that way. This way all your contacts and emails will still be there, instead of wiping windows and starting over
I don't know what it means to "...log into the web browser account at live.com and use it that way." Do you mean to go to WLMail browser (which is IE)? I'm sorry Robin I can't understand. Could you maybe explain it a little more? Thank you very much!

P.S. I forgot to tell you (when you said that the only thing wrong was with WLMail) actually the same problem happens when I work on Word and also on sites like sevenforums.com where I have to type. So, I wonder, wouldn't this make it something wrong with Windows then? Or would you say something wrong with the browser? I'm so confused I hope to hear from you on this.

Did he check when he was there why when you type everything moves around? And what did he say it was? Did you take my advice and change the keyboard, first trying to put it into a different usb port to see of that was the problem, and if not purchasing a new one and see if that fixes the problem?
The problem is not in WlM. Or word, you told me wherever you type, the letters move all over. That sounds like a hardware issue or a driver issue.
It could also be a mouse issue
Try this:
Go into control panel
Click on the mouse icon
Click on Pointer options
Uncheck Enhance pointer precision
Click apply
Restart the computer
See if this fixes the letters moving all over
If not
Go back into control panel
Click on the keyboard icon
Play with the slider in there to see if it fixes the keyboard issue
Move the slider and repeat rate a bit back to slow click apply
Do each one separately to see if any of these settings fix it
I would hate for you to reinstall windows then find you are having the exact same problem

I have seen this problem with laptops and unchecking the mouse option i gave you fixes it
It could be the same with desktops
And for anyone else looking in here
I was on the phone with her for about an hr discussing this problem
I advised her to have some one check it out for her because she is inbound and cannot bring the cpu to have it fixed, as you see by her post above, she did, but i cannot understand since he found no viruses or spyware why he did not look for a driver or hardware issue and just said reinstall windows, which i am betting that prolly might not even fix this.
Her problem is wherever she types the letters jump all over the place, wether she is in wlm, word or even typing in here, so it os not a Windows live mail problem
If my suggestions do not work, maybe one of you in here can come up with something else for her to try before she has him come back and reinstall windows.

Thank you so much Robin, I would want to avoid that big job if I could. But itís not the letters that move, itís the screen that rushes down to the bottom taking with it any typing I have. Whatís moving around are the pages, i.e. Iím reading or working on a page and suddenly it changes to another one then back and so on, the mouse pointer quivers, things move around all over, the spaces enlarge and I just have to shut the computer down, but some times even after shutting it down it does it again or continues it from before. Weird!!! But, this happens at the time when that screen rushes down. It seems everything else happens at the same time when the screens rushes down! Then it all stops and all returns to normal...until the next time. like a hurricane! Could this be hijacking?

To add to my bad luck, the time the techi came in it was all normal again so he didnít have a chance to actually see the tremendous earthquake I get here (I was hoping I knew how to trigger that darned thing for him). Then after one hour he left....the whole thing happened again.

As to all the hardware steps you were so very kind to give me before, I didnít ignore them but became very busy with some health and a couple of other issues (no life or death but several deadlines at the same time!) and wasnít able to sit and do them. Iím going to do them now and will report to you.

Iím so glad youíre so helpful since Iíll have to call and let them know that I want to try a few things before they send me the techi for the big install. (I wish I could show him your message so he could do it for me, but that will cost another $100...)

I am Robin, I just had to let them know that I'm not doing the big instal for now.

I'm just about finishing except for using a different keyboard as I have to go out and get one, probably tomorrow. Just as I was testing the keyboard in the Control Panel the "earthquake" came in and had to stop. I'll go finish it now, then restart and see what happens.

It takes longer because each time the "earthquake" appears I have to shut down the computer and let it rest so when I reopen it....hopefully it's normal again.

Wouldn't you love to have Mr. Bill Gates see this earthquake??? lol! Thanks so much!

P.S. I forgot to mention that my browser plays a big role in this earthquake by, each time I want to just clear the screen by clicking on the upper right hand red X, the more I click on it the more it multiplies and fills up the taskbar with its logos or icons (sometimes it does by itself...). At the same time many files open and also multiply themselves in the taskbar. I got rid of IE as I prefer Firefox, but do you think I should make IE my default again? Is it possible that a browser could make such a commotion???

Good afternoon Robin. I finished all the hardware testing you suggested, including buying another keyboard. I restarted after each time I changed something, and have been working on the computer to see if it all helped...but unfortunately, these things continue making my life miserable.

Any other testing maybe? Meantime, thanks so much for helping! Oh!!! it did it right here. I was going to send it to you the way it was, all the way to the bottom, but you wouldn't see this text and would think it was a blank message by error..... Adela

Then i have no clue, maybe someone else here can help you, if not you might not have a choice but to reinstall windows. If you go that path make sure you back up your documents and any picturs you want to keep on an external device first

Hi again Robin:

May I have your opinion please?

After I reinstalled WLMail2011 (and upgraded to 2012), after I checked the mouse and keyboard, and the technician reinstalled my Windows 7...believe it or not, again, I experienced the terrible glitch of the screen rushing down to the bottom along with the typed text, plus the cursor quivering, etc. and some other glitches as in the past. It only happened 3 times in the last 2 days, but Iím afraid it looks like a beginning. I was shocked!

So, would there be anything else that I or a technician could do to find out what is causing this thing and then KILL IT! as far as you can tell?

A big thanks from a desperate jinx for any further ideas? Adela
