IE 9 Window size issues

If I click a Link in the Task Bar, the IE Window always opens Maximized,
However if I click a site on the Desktop, it opens Minimized.
I've tried all suggestions provided in Thread "IE only Opens in Small Window", all to no avail.
Any suggestions appreciated..........Bill

Wow - Really, it ignores setting the shortcut to open a maximized window?

--Yes it ignores setting the shortcut to maximize on Web Pages I've put a shortcut on the Desktop, example...http://www.caremark.com/wps/portal
--Now I can take an App. as in the video you provided link to & it works, maybe cause I can tell it to run Maximized but link like I have above, I can't see a way to Maximize on clicking the Shortcut>Open. I Right-Click the Shortcut, Click Properties but no "Run Maximized there"
----Clicking a link from an Email opens Maximized.
--I even Clicked the Start Orb>All Programs>Interenet Explorer (both 32 & 64 bit, and seleted Maximized in properties.
--I can move one of my shortcutes such as the 1 above to the Taskbar, Click it, it opens in Maximized.

Thx for the additional info - now I understand.

Close all IE windows
(wait a few seconds or check task manager to be sure IE has ended)

Click on one of those internet shortcuts that won't maximize the IE window
DO NOT maximize the resulting IE window

Drag the corners of the IE window to where it is as big as a maximized window
Close that IE window
(wait a few seconds or check task manager to be sure IE has ended)

Use that same shortcut to ope IE again.

Did the window open to the same size that it was when you closed it?

I did as you outlined and made sure with Task Manager that IE was closed. I closed IE once Maximized from one of those Desktop Shortcuts, using File>Exit, Used CTRL>Red X, used CTRL-Shift>Red X, used CTRL-ALT>Red X, all to no avail.
Now if a Maximized IE Window was already Open (like this one I'm currently looking at) & I Clicked one of the Desktop Shortvuts, it would then open Maximized.

I do not understand the part in bold.

The goal is to close an IE window that has never been maximized.

Only have one IE window open.

Edit: or maybe I do not understand the problem.
I can be dense at times :-)
Drag it to the size that you like.

Close that one IE window.

Reopen IE and see if it holds its size.

Sorry I may have used wrong terminology, by Maximized I meant I dragged the Window to size I wanted then Closed it.

I only had more than 1 window, this one, open once after all the retries failed just to see what transpired.

I did Reopen (with no other Open0, and it did not hold size.

I see - I was beginning to think that I was not understanding the problem.

It sounds like you use IE as your main browser - are you willing to reset it?
(If so, be sure that you have a record of any passwords that IE might have been keeping for you.)

Yes I use IE as my main Browser.

If you think Restting it may help, then yes I'll consider it. Already have a Word Doc with all my IDs/Passwords I use.

How do you reset IE?

Window size is not remembered
Why "suddenly" are all my windows opening at less than full screen? No matter what I click on, My Docs, favorite websites, etc., there's now a gap at the bottom of the screen. What did I do to cause this and what can I do to fix it? Annoying to say the least.

Saving Window Size
I use Yahoo Messenger a lot, and for a while, when I opened an IM window, it would take up the full screen, almost maximized but not quite. I adjusted the window size once, and then each time I opened a new IM window it would stay at the smaller size I had created. For some reason, recently it has...

IE8 Window Size
Here we go again.... Sorry to introduce this old chestnut but everywhere I search all input is like 500 days ago. And still no use to me. I have a couple of IE8 shortcuts on my taskbar for often used websites. Clicking either of them launches IE8 in a tiny, useless window which I have to...
