    IE 8

    Hi,

After going back to XP from windows 7, i noticed the big difference and decided to switch back to the dark side again. But this time trying to be all cool, i installed the 64 bit version and managed to solve a lot of problems with the drivers. But the main problem i have been having is with IE. It wont open any web pages. I tried to reset everything but it still wont open. Firefox and opera open fine. I tried to reinstall IE but whenever i do that it tells me IE 8 is not compatible with my system and same story for IE 7 as well. Anyone have any ideas with this problem?

    Thanks

How did you try to "reinstall" it? No idea what could have been screwed up by trying to install it when it's already installed or trying to install IE7.

Run an elevated sfc/scannow, if that doesn't find anything, go to Programs and Features - Turn Windows Features on and off - uncheck Internet Explorer 8. let it configure, might have to reboot. Then go back and re check the box again. Possible that might fix any problems. If not, I'd try a repair install.
