| | Browsers freeze computer randomly About six months after buying this laptop, I've been plagued with this problem of navigating to a site and having my computer totally hang for 20 seconds [always 20 seconds] - no mouse, no keyboard, no clock gadget movement. Doesn't always happen at the same site. Now it does, now it doesn't, now this site, now that.... After it hangs for its 20 seconds, bang!, it's back and everything is fine again. I asked the isp tech about this and he said it was "a software issue." I have Verizon FiOS at 15/5 mbps service and the laptop has AMD Turion II dual core at 2.4 with 4 gb ram. Avira Antivir is the only program, besides stuff related to the laptop hardware, that starts when Windows starts, and I almost never have another program running when browsing. Other than this really annoying problem, the laptop works very well. Anything I can do about this? Hmmm, I guess not.... Last edited by Sonyack; 15 Oct 2012 at 06:00 AM.. |
