Hotmail/Outlook.com mail service not functioning correctly - IE8

    Hi all,

I am having difficulty using my online hotmail/live/outlook.com account.

I can log on to my account and access my inbox, however when I try to open an e-mail, the browser takes me back to the mail home page (not inbox). Sometimes the mail will open briefly, but then reverts to the home page and use of the back button just repeats the process. On the very seldom occasion that the page will actually hold on the open e-mail, when I press reply I get taken back to the home screen again...
I have two linked accounts, one upgraded to Outlook and the other retaining hotmail status. I have the same problem with both accounts and had this problem before changing to outlook on the first account. In fact I have always had this problem since upgrading my laptop (VAIO SA Series).

I am running IE 8 on windows 7 Pro, 64 Bit. I have not experienced this problem on any other machine (and I use more variety than most). Incidentally, this problem does not occur on my machine when using Chrome browser.

The closest to a similar problem I found online suggested changing settings to use HTTPS, as my setting were already set to use this, I tried disabling it. I actually thought I'd solved the issue when I did a test, however the problem still exists today.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Thanks,

    SJ

It could be a browser issue. Have you tried it in a different browser?
