Welcome to Seven Forums AaLF. Do you mean the shortcuts are still there, but showing a generic icon? Can you post a screenshot?

If this just happened, you might try a System Restore Point from just before it began

    System Restore

Oh. I've put up with it for a few days with much taking place since then. It'd be major surgery by now. Maybe someone will come up with another answer.

While Firefox is opened and pinned on your taskbar right click on the taskbar icon, then right click on Mozilla Firefox (right above "Unpin this program from taskbar"), then click on properties and select "Change icon..." from the Shortcut tab. Navigate to the Firefox.exe in "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" and select the Firefox icon file, and select open. It should now show all the available icons you can choose from. Select the one you want, and click "OK". Now unpin Firefox from the taskbar, and the icon should show. Re-pinning should pin it back to the taskbar with the icon.

I think you can just click the icons properties and change it, should come back. This happens as well on somethings when you pin them to the tb and then remove the icon from the desktop.

I've got a utility that restores icons to folders and desktop. "Rebuild Icon Cache.bat"

I don't remember where I downloaded it from and a google search turns up a lot of things but not sure if its one of them. There are several rebuild icons on a google search, no guarantee that any of them really work but worth a try.
