IE is not default

IE is not listed in the default programs. I cannot set IE as a default browser, though it seems it is. My alternative internet browser is Firefox which is not default.

If Shawn's suggestion did not help, you might try this:

You can set Firefox as default:

Open Firefox> Tools> Options> Advanced> Under System defaults click Make Firefox the default browser

Confirm Firefox opens web links by default

Open IE> Tools (The gear icon upper right)> Internet Options> Programs> Put a check next to Tell me if Internet Explorer is not the default browser> Now click on Make default

See if IE is now restored to default.
