Its interesting they don't offer any other "sort by" option. I gave up choosing favorites from the Favorites button in IE a long time ago. I keep a shortcut on my desktop to the Favorites folder in Windows Explorer. I set the Explorer view to "details", add a column header called "modified date", and click on it to make it sort properly. That way for several weeks I get to view the favorites list in Windows Explorer properly sorted, until the PC decides to reset itself and changes all the modified dates to the same date. When that happens, they appear sorted by name again but at least the new entries will be at the top. Another trick is to use lots of folders to sort into, grouping related favorites together. I often miss the ability of Windows 98 to remember its settings.
