Adobe Flash Player 11 Active X - Why?

I am getting a prompt screen to upgrade my Adobe Flash Player 11 Active X, which has a selection to install Chrome that I cannot de-select.

I do not want Chrome - should I upgrade this? Indeed - do I need it?
